Advocacy

The NHPA works to provide a unified voice in multiple forums for members. We represents our members’ interests at important legislative meetings, committees, hearings and taskforces.  We also work with the National Council on Behavioral Health to influence federal initiatives, rule making, and legislation impacting the behavioral health committee.  The Providers Association is working diligently toward reducing barriers for providers in the prevention, treatment, and recovery fields. Legal Action Center (LAC) is available to members, free of charge, for questions about legal issues specific to alcohol and drug treatment and prevention. The Legal Action Center’s lawyers are the leading experts in the country on such critically important legal issues as:
