Job Description:
The Resident Assistant is responsible for: Providing support and monitoring clients at SENHS in accordance with rules and procedures as well as the primary on phones.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing emotional support to ARC/ TP clients. 
  • Responsible for the delivery of evidence based practice psycho-educational groups as approved by the Clinical Director and/or Assistant Clinical Director. 
  • Responsible for assisting with the answering telephone lines, taking messages, transferring calls, recording bed check calls, etc. 
  • Responsible for assisting with phone screens and intake procedures. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all client medications are taken as prescribed by physician order and in a timely manner. 
  • Performs and records a medication count at the beginning and end of each shift worked in conjunction with other staff coming in or going home. 
  • Through stabilization protocol, check vitals as required of all residents using the appropriate withdrawal assessment scale (Clinical Director will set the protocol for each resident). 
  • Responsible for tracking client appointments. 
  • Responsible for reporting any unusual behaviors or occurrences with SENHS clients. 
  • Responsible for overseeing the client common areas; assures that the common areas are kept neat and clean at all times. 
  • Performs random room searches – bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas. 
  • Must report in at all staff meetings. 
  • Responsible for the assignment of all housekeeping chores and ensuring they are completed to SENHS standards. 
  • Responsible for observation, collection and paperwork of in house and federal urinalysis (male for male and female for female) program (both NH and ME). 
  • Responsible to communicate and work as a team member with all individuals on your shift.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Management Team

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ability to work with alcohol and/or drug addicted individuals. 
  • Must be CRSW (Certified Recovery Support Worker) or willing to become certified within one year of employment start date. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully; good inter-personal skills. 
  • Ability to do group presentation work. 
  • If in recovery, provide evidence of personal stability as well as adhering to all SENHS Policies as it relates to recovery. 
  • Skill in using computers: Word, Excel, Access, etc. 
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service. 
  • Ability to provide input on the creation of new systems and efficiencies. 
  • Ability to communicate well in writing and verbally. 
  • Able to maintain confidential information and adhere to Agency boundaries practices. 
  • Must be high school graduate over 18 years; work towards college degree desirable. 
  • Must understand and comply with confidentiality laws (42 CFR Part 2) as well as HIPAA Regulations.
